A – IN CLASS

1. What do you study in these classes? Match items in column A with items in column B. Then write the sentences like the example.

Example:

In Geography, we study the world rivers and mountain ranges.

 
 
2. Read the texts about Mai and Ba in exercises 1 and 2 (in the student’s book). Then check the correct columns according to whether the information is true (T), false (F) or not given (NG).

a) Mai and Ba are studying at the same school.

b) Ba enjoys school very much. But Mai doesn’t.

c) Mai’s favorite subject is Computer Science.

d) Ba is interested in Electronics.

e) Perhaps Mai doesn’t enjoy her Geography class.

f) Ba is good at Math.

g) At Quang Trung School, students study more than 4 hours every morning.

h) Mai can use a computer but Ba can’t.

 

3. Make 10 sentences that you think are true about you and one of your classmates. Use adverbs and activities.
Example:

I usually listen to music.

My friend never goes to the art club.

4. Read these magic squares.

This is the oldest magic square. It is from a Chinese book, I Ching, and it dates from 2200 BC.

This magic square is common in Asia.

For each magic square add the numbers :

a) horizontally

b) vertically

c) diagonally

Example:

Four plus nine plus five plus sixteen equal thirty-four.

 

5. Rearrange the words to make sentences. The first one is done for you.

– 8.45: have Literature lesson
– 10.30: finish school
