The environmental pollution has become one of the biggest problems in the modern world. We ought to reduce its harmful effects by applying the following solutions. First and foremost, we must reduce the exhaust discharged into the air from vehicles. To do this, using public transport such as buses is encouraged. Secondly, we can make the environment cleaner by growing more trees combined with the ban on deforestation. Moreover, instead of using sources of energy which can cause pollution such as gas or coal, we can use cleaner energy, the most popular of which are solar energy and wind energy. Last but not least, each of us can reduce the pollution with little things that most of us can do. For instance, we should not throw rubbish everywhere but put it into dustbins. In addition, cleaning the streets where we live is advisable. To sum up, there are a lot of effective ways to reduce the environmental pollution, and we had better advise people around us to join hands with us.

Women always play an indispensable part in society. As a member of the family, they have very important roles and some can be mentioned as follows. First of all, they are wives and mothers. As a wife, they join hands with their husbands to build their home; as a mother, they bring up their children. Secondly, they can take care of children better than men. Women are the ones who give birth to children and spend more time with them, so they know how to look after children well. Moreover, children always prefer being taken care of by a woman to by a man. Finally, they can support the family like men. As modern society develops, women have better social status. They go to work and earn money, so they can support the family economically like men do. To conclude, women have a lot of essential roles in the family, and their roles should deserve more respect from society.

 

3. WHY IS IT NECESSARY TO KNOW ENGLISH? / BENEFITS OF ENGLISH

English is very important today, so it is necessary to know English. The following reasons will specify this. Firstly, English is an international language which is used all over the world in almost all of fields of life such as economy, politics, science, and so on. We can use English to speak to most foreign people no matter where they come from. Secondly, knowing English well helps us approach a lot of knowledge because most documents and reference sources available on the Internet are written in English, and we can search and read what we need easier. Last but not least, English is one of the most important factors that enable us to find good jobs as a lot of companies now require a good command of English from their employees. In conclusion, English is essential in modern life, so we should try to study it well.

4. A PERSON YOU ADMIRE (the) MOST (best).

The person I admire most is my cousin. He is now a final-year student at Foreign Trade University. He is not only an excellent student but also an active volunteer in a lot of social activities. My cousin stands out as he is quite tall and thin. He has always had good results in study and has won a lot of scholarships at his universtity. He is also known to be an enthusiastic volunteer who participates in charitable works such as visiting and giving food to orphans , becoming a voluntary blood donor, and so on. His slogan is “Work harder than you think you did yesterday”, which is also his favourite quote. He is trying to graduate from universtity with the best results and then work for a foreign company. I always try to talk to him a lot when I have a chance, and he always gives me good advice. My cousin is an example to me and his advice will help me a lot when I become a university student in the future.

5. ADVANTAGES and DISADVANTAGES of THE INTERNET

Nowadays, there have been numerous debates concerning benefits and drawbacks of the Internet, which is becoming popular all over the world. For one thing, it provides us lots of information and sorts of entertainment. We can easily get information by surfing webs instead of using newspapers, magazines and the like. We can also play games or listen to music whenever we have free time to relax. Moreover, with social media, we can not only keep in touch with our friends and families but also share our photos and opinions with others. In contrast, the Internet also has some disadvantages. If you abuse it, you can become lazier and lazier. You will lose the skill of thinking. Furthermore, you can waste too much time sitting in front of your computers to read things on websites. As a result, it may have a negative effect on your health in general and your eyes in particular. In brief, the Internet will be very useful if we know how to use it effectively.

My first day school is one of those events which will remain ever fresh in my heart. I was then 6 years old. One day my mother told me that I was going to start my school the next day. I was very excited. I couldn’t think of anything else. I was always thinking about the school, the teachers, and the students of the school. I couldn’t even sleep at night. The next morning my mother woke me up early in the morning. I had a bath and put on my best clothes. Having breakfast we started walking towards the school. After half an hour we reached the school. I saw many students on the school campus. Some were playing and some were talking to each other. But I did not know any one. So, I got little nervous. My mother took me to the headmaster’s room. He asked me some questions. As I could answer them all, he became pleased. He called in a teacher and send me to my class with her. I was admitted to class one. The class teacher and the student receive me heartily. Though I was little nervous, soon I became easy. I will remember the day as long as I live.

7. FUTURE JOB

Tour guide is the kind of job I would like to do after I finish my education. I have dreamt of being a tour guide since I realised how interesting the job is. As a tour guide, you can lead visitors to tourist attractions, present them characteristics of those places and make impression on them after their tours. It is even more interesting if you guide foreign visitors. Then you have the chance to tell them about Vietnamese cultures and customs. Foreign visitors can therefore understand deeper about unique characteristics of our country. To become a good tour guide, you need quite a lot of things such as a good command of foreign languages, presentation skills, and so on. In my opinion, it is never a boring job. I am planning to take the entrance exam to a university where tourism is one of its faculties. I will try to pass the exam so that I can make my dream come true.

8. YOUR FAVOURITE FILMS.

My favourite film is “Who will have Tobias?”. It is a German film about a boy named Tobias who has lived with his grandmother in the countryside since he was very small. One day, his parents want to bring him back to the city with them. However, his grandmother does not accept this for she thinks his parents lack care for him. And she tries to keep him with her. As a result, a dispute over who will have him breaks out. Tobias decides to run away for fear of hurting the feeling of his beloved ones. The film ends meaningfully with Tobias continuing to live with his grandmother and his parents visiting him more frequently at weekends. The film gives a message about the family relationship: Love is the most important thing to all family members. I watched this film long ago, but I sometimes watch it again. I always feel emotional whenever I see it. I recommend you see it once and you will certainly have the same feeling as mine.

9. THE PLACE WHERE YOU LIVE.”

I live in Viet Quang town located in Ha Giang province. It is a small town with a lot of mountains as my province is a mountainous one. My town is famous for its beautiful waterfalls and streams flowing through dense forests. There is a large lake recognised as a place for ecotourism . My town has two specialities: tea and oranges. Tea trees are grown on high hills a long the national road. The tea has a special taste that makes it unique compared with tea in other places. Orange trees also grow well because of the suitable soil. Oranges have a specially sweet taste that creates their fame. I will possibly live far from my town when I become a university student but no matter where I am, it is always the place I put in a special place in my mind.

10. YOUR FAVOURITE SPORT.

1. FOOTBALL

Football is my favourite sport. I have been playing football since I was a child. It is the most popular sport in the world. Football is officially played with two teams each having eleven players. A football match takes place on a field with a goal at the end of each side and the most impotant element is the ball. Each team tries to move the ball to the opposing side and a goal is scored when the ball is put into the net of the goal. Players can touch the ball with all parts of their body except their arms and the hands. Goalkeepers who protect the goal can touch the ball with their hands. Each match has two halves and when the second half ends, the team scoring the most goals wins the match. I like this sport because of two reasons. Firstly, like most other sports, it helps us have good health because we have to move all the time. Secondly, it is a team sport which requires good cooperation between members of a team. I often play it with my friends in the afternoon and we always have a lot of fun.

2. BADMINTON

Badminton is my favourite sport. I have been playing it since I was small. Badminton can be played by two or four players on a cour divided by a net. Each player uses a racquet of their own to strike a shuttlecock so that the shuttlecock passes over the net. A point is scored when the shuttlecock striken by a the racquet lands in the opposing half of the court without touching the net. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. A badminton match is divided into three games. Each game is won when a player or a team of two players can score (reach) twenty-one points first. The match is won when one side wins two of three games. I like this sport because it requires good movements of all parts of our body, which is very good for our health. You must use the hand, the foot and the eye at the same time so that you can strike the shuttlecock well. I often play badminton with my friends in the early morning or in the afternoon and we always have a lot of fun.

11. YOUR LAST SUMMER VACATION/ ONE OF YOUR MEMORABLE VACATIONS

To award me for my good study result last year, my parents took a three-day tour to Sapa town in Lao Cai province as a summer vocation. The first thing I felt when arriving here was its coolness. The heat of Summer stopped, to give way to the coolness of Autumn. Ranges of mountains with terraced rice fields on them covered with fog really looked picturesque. We started visiting some of tourism attractions in Sapa in the afternoon. The first place was the Catholic Church in the centre of the town. The Church was built of stone by the French. The next place we visited was Love Waterfall. It was a high waterfall with beautiful landscapes around. We took a lot of photos there. The second day, we visited Ham Rong mountain. It was a mountain with the shape of a dragon’s head. We went on our trip to the Rattan Bridge. It was a bridge made of rattan. I felt a bit scared when passing the bridge and looking down the stream. The last day in Sapa my family visit some of ethnic minorities’ villages and markets here. There were a lot of ethnic minorities living together in Sapa, and their cultures were diversified. We bought some souvenirs for our friends in the markets. It was a great tour that I will never forget.

12. ADVANTAGES and DISADVANTAGES of TV.

Television has become so popular nowadays. There are certain disadvantages of television besides its great advantages. On one hand, television is an integral part of our life. First, people can get the latest news in the world by watching news programme on TV. Furthermore, TV screens many interesting and useful programs such as “Wildlife world” or “Science Documentary” that help widen knowledge about many fields. Moreover, there are lots of entertainment programmes shown on TV to help people relax after a hard-working day. On the other hand, TV has negative effects on people, especially children. Firstly, watching TV too much makes people become sedentary due to hours of watching movies and this increases the risk of obesity and other kinds of disease. In addition, with the ability to connect to the Internet as now, TV may easily attract people, causing them to ignore other important things. In conclusion, TV is a two-sided equipment and whether it is beneficial or harmful depends on how people use it.

History is the subject I like best in school. I like History because it can give me a lot of useful knowledge about the development process of the whole world in general and Vietnam in particular. I am very interested in what happened all over the world. I know most students are afraid of History because they have difficulty remembering the times. I pay much attention to it so I can study it well at school. I can remember dates, months and years for an event quite well, so they are not problems to me. I sometimes talk to my friends who are also interested in History about some subjects and we together give our own opinions about them. Additionally, I often make timelines for big events such as a war or a revolution so that I can remember their times and processes better and more precisely. History is an interesting subject, so I hope there are more and more students interested in History and they are not afraid of it anymore.

14. BEBEFITS OF SCHOOL UNIFORMS/ WEARING UNIFORMS AT SCHOOL.

Wearing uniforms at school has a lot of benefits as it helps solve a lot of problems in schools. There are some of its benefits that can be mentioned as followed. Firstly, wearing uniforms at school makes all students in a school look the same. Therefore, there is little discrimination of rich and poor students in appearance and they may be treated more equally. Secondly, wearing uniforms at school prevents some students from thinking what they should wear in school, which often takes them a lot of time and money. As a result, they may have to think more about their study. Finally, the school uniform can make students prouder of the school where they attend whenever they wear it. It may help students introduce their school’s name and fame to others easily. To sum up, wearing uniforms at school has great benefits and should be encouraged in every school.

15. DESCRIBE YOUR FAVORITE WATER SPORT.

At the moment, there are a number of sports that one can choose from in order to keep fit like soccer, athletics, badminton, etc. To me, of all the available sports currently, swimming is definitely the most beneficial one. For starters, swimming is the best way to avoid the scorching heat in Vietnam. Specifically, while other sports make you sweat a lot after a hard workout, swimming can help cool your body off and refresh your mind. That’s why many people pour to beaches or swimming pools during the summer. Secondly, it contains low impact. To make it clearer, when playing competitive sports such as football or hockey, you are likely to get injured sooner or later. Nonetheless, if you participate in swimming activities, you will easily find that you don’t have to worry about any kinds of injury at all because no matter what you do in the water, you do so with less force or impact thanks to your buoyancy. All in all, I strongly recommend swimming to those who are considering taking up sports because of its different benefits, especially the two above ones.
