Objectives:
1. Educational aim: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to be expected to report some of the records at the 22nd SEA Games the sports results of the match.After that, they can use it in the real life.
2. Knowledge: – General knowledge: Students can understand some of the records at the 22nd Sea Games
– Language: asking and answering about records at the 22nd SEA Games
– New words: words related to some sports at the 22nd SEA Games
3. Skills: – Talking about sports events of the 22nd SEA Games
– Talking about (reporting) sports results
Task 1. Work in pairs. Discuss and write the name of the sport under each symbol. Which sport(s) do you like / dislike? Give your reasons. (Làm việc theo cặp. Thảo luận và viết tên môn thể thao dưới mỗi biểu tượng. Bạn thích/không thích môn thể thao nào? Đưa ra lý do của bạn?)

Lý do:
I like swimming because it’s an easy and inexpensive sport. We can practise swimming at any place: in a river, in a lake or in a swimming pool. In an other aspect, it doesn’t require any equipment to exercise. In addition, we can teach ourselves how to swim.
Task 2. Work with a partner. Talk about some of the records at the 22nd SEA Games, using the information in the table below. (Làm việc với bạn học. Hãy nói về một số kỷ lục tại SEA Games 22, sử dụng thông tin trong bảng dưới đây.)

Boonthung, the Thai, won the Men’s 200 metres. He ran 200 metres in 20.14 seconds.

– Yurita, the Indonesian, won the Men’s Swimming. He swam 1500 metres in 13 minutes 19.26 seconds.
– Maria, the Philippines, won the Women’s Cycling. She travelled 25 kilometres cross country in 1 hour 29 minutes 35 seconds.
– Dannal, the Thai, won the Men’s Tennis (Single). He defeated Febi, the Indonesian, winning two sets 6-2, 6-1.
Task 3. Work in groups. Make a report on the sports results, using the information in the scoreboard. (Làm việc nhóm. Làm một bản báo cáo về các kết quả thể thao, sử dụng thông tin ở bảng điểm.)
Example:
Vietnam and Myanmar played in the Women’s Football Final. The Vietnamese team won the gold medal. The result (score) was 2 – 1.

– Thailand and Malaysia played in the Women’s Third Place Play-off. The Thai Team won the bronze medal with the score 6 – 1.
– Thailand and Vietnam played in the Men’s Football Final and the Thai Team won the gold medal. The result was 2 – 1.
Volleyball
– Thailand and Vietnam played in the Women’s Volleyball Final. The Thai Team won the gold medal with the score 3 – 0.
