– clothes (quần áo), trousers (quần dài, quần tây), shorts (quần soóc), spectacles (mắt kính), jeans (quần jeans),… là những danh từ luôn ở dạng số nhiều do vậy các động từ và đại từ đi cùng chúng phải ở ngôi thứ 3 số nhiều.
Ví dụ: These trousers are ninety-five thousand dong.
Chiếc quần tây này là 95,000 đồng.
– shoes và sandals có thể dùng ở dgng danh từ số nhiều hoặc số ít tùy thuộc vào ý nghĩa.
a) These yellow trousers are very nice.
Dịch : Quần tây màu vàng này rất đẹp.

Dịch : Đúng rồi.
b) How much are they?
Dịch : Nó bao nhiêu tiền?

Dịch : Xin lỗi. Chiếc quần tây bao nhiêu tiền ạ?

Chú ý :
Nếu muốn chuyển những danh từ luôn ở dạng số nhiều (ở trên) thành số ít, chúng ta có thể dùng a pair of + danh từ số nhiều … và lúc này động từ và đại từ đi cùng với chúng phải ở ngôi thứ 3 số ít,
a pair of + danh từ số nhiều + động từ ở dạng số ít…
Ví dụ: This pair of trousers is ninety-five thousand dong.
Chiếc quần tây này là 95,000 đồng.
The pair of leans js seventy-four thousand dong.
Chiếc quần jeans là 74,000 đồng.
